Please share some interesting stories about today…
We learned how to raise some sails and strike them (which means taking a sail down). In science we collected phytoplankton with the nets that you dip in the water, a meter deep, for five minutes.
Any favorite wildlife sightings, quotes, games to share?
We saw lots of friendly harbor seals, pigeon guillemots (a type of water bird) , an eagle and a hawk! Also some people told riddles.
Describe the anchorage or moorage where Carlyn is right now:
Four Winds Camp is a summer camp where the Carlyn is docked, but is also where the Carlyn home. It has lots of trees and a beautiful beach. The sun is reflecting of the water so the windows of the cabins are shining.
Today’s weather…
HOT, sunny & sweaty with a small breeze.
Describe highlights from today’s science and sailing watches:
When sailing we got to raise the sails with only a bit of guidance. In science we got to feel what phytoplanton felt like!
Any questions, concerns, or expectations for tomorrow?
Our expectations are that it will be AWESOME!
