Schmitz Park Elementary (trip #3) Day 1+2

Trip Day: Day 2

Location: San Juan Islands

Name(s): Schmitz Park Elementary

School/Grade: 5

The group is on an adventure to sample the marine water in an attempt to find a relationship between pH and zooplankton.

At the end of day 1, the students found themselves on Orcas Island after traversing the San Juan archipelago from Anacortes. Along the way they have had plenty of time to test their skills at line handling, navigation and deploying science equipment.

The evening was filled with charades around the campfire chased by s’mores and good times.

The plan for the next day was to decide on whether their day of water sampling would take them to Cyprus or James Island. Such are the decision when you are guided in part by the way the wind blows.
