Do you have any interesting stories about today?

We set of for the Salish Seas, half of our group set up the sail and the other half learned science. We learned about plankton and collected some zooplankton. We also collected water at different depths, in order to test pH level tomorrow.

Any favorite wildlife sightings, quotes, games to share?

We read lots of science in different accents, we saw Harbor seals during the first few moments of our trip, and collected a lot of comb jellies in our zooplankton samples.

Describe the anchorage or moorage where Carlyn is right now:

We are at camp Four Winds on Orcas Island, water group is sleeping on the boat tonight while wind group camps on shore.

Today’s weather:

Very sunny, with some wind for our sails. We applied a lot of sunscreen and drank tons of water!

Describe highlights from today’s science and sailing watches:

See above.

Do you have any questions, concerns, or expectations for tomorrow?

We are hoping for more time on land and more time doing experiments. We are all having a good time on the Carlyn and right now we are doing chores!
