Peak to Peak, Day 1, April 2015

Trip Day: Day 1

Location: Anacortes, WA

Name(s): Paige, Lina

School/Grade: Peak to Peak 7th

Do you have any interesting stories about today….

This morning, our flight was delayed 3 hours because there was a minor mechanical problem in the airplane floor. While we were waiting for the plane, many people spilled their food and drinks on the carpet. Also, when we were on the bus driving to the marina, Lexi K. went around the bus and French braided every girls’ hair.

Any favorite wildlife sightings, quotes, games to share?

We saw a few seabirds on the water while we were on the deck of the boat.

Describe the anchorage or moorage where Carlyn is right now:

Right now Carlyn is docked at Cap Sante Marina.

Today’s weather:

Hazy/foggy, with a slight rain fall. There is also a slight breeze.

Describe highlights from today’s science and sailing watches:

Today we talked about the plan for tomorrow. We will leave the marina in the morning, and go to a salt marsh nearby to get our first sample. Then we will sail all the way up to Sucia Island. Water watch will camp on land and Wind watch will sleep on the boat.

Do you have any questions, concerns, or expectations for tomorrow?

Tomorrow we expect the weather to be almost the same as today, however it is expected to get nicer as we progress through the day.
