We learned how to raise the sails (main, mizzen, and jib sails) and navigate the boat more effectively. A big point of the learning today was how to Tack the boat, where we are sailing and completely shift the boat to go against or with the wind. Read more ›

We were just departing from the marina after an hour or so of safety instructions and tours, and were finally out in the water with eager anticipation. The deck member pulled out the water bottle crate and was passing out everyone’s water bottles, which were graciously provided by the staff, when someone yelled. “It fell!  The bottle fell overboard!” Read more ›
