Open Window School, Day 3, April 2015

Trip Day: Day 3

Location: Camp Four Winds Westward

Name(s): Logan, Samantha

School/Grade: Open Window School/6th

Do you have any interesting stories about today….

We traveled from Jones Island to the Four Winds Camp, on Orcas Island. We also raised the Mizzen Sail and the Stays’l, mostly by ourselves (the mizzen sail is the one at the very back, and the Stays’l is the one on the Jib Stay at the front), with some help from staff. The highlight of today (in our opinion) was deploying science gear so we could measure the amount of copper and plankton in the ocean, all while being timed.

Any favorite wildlife sightings, quotes, games to share?

We saw some deer at Four Winds Camp, while we were playing in a field. We were playing games like Capture the Flag, Evolution (a rock-paper-scissors-based game), and Ship And Shore.
