Open Enrollment – March 2016

Trip Day: Day 1

Location: Elliot Bay marina

Name(s): Individual Enrollment sai

School/Grade: 6-9

All the students, and accompanying chaperones, made their way to the S/V Carlyn earlier today and met the Salish crew for the beginning of their 3-day journey of science and sailing on Puget Sound.

Captain Tom provided a safety talk before leaving the dock on their way south into Puget Sound.

The boat left the marina in the morning and caught favorable breezes towards their daytime adventures. Several sails were raised as they made 8 knots in the sunshine with northerlies at their back.

Read the Afternoon Report submitted by one of the students.

The boat eventually rounded the south end of Vashon Island and anchored in the quiet waters of Quartermaster Harbor for the evening. The evening was full of games and song.
