Do you have any interesting stories about today….
We found a geocache while in Deer Harbor after our walk across Orcas Island on lovely country roads.
Any favorite wildlife sightings, quotes, games to share?
While sailing on route to Orcas Island, we passed Spieden Island. There we saw a type of exotic sheep with unusually long necks. As well, we had the rare experience of having several sea lions swim along with us next to the boat. A rock was spotted piled with seals.
The Water watch played several rounds of Big Booty as well as learning several new games. Such as Bob is the Weasel and Bean, Taco, Bean, Taco, Whoosh. The Wind Watch play a fun word game called Behead and Behold.
Describe the anchorage or moorage where Carlyn is right now:
The Carlyn is currently moored at a dock on Jones Island.
Today’s weather:
Today we had beautiful weather. In the morning we had a few clouds in the sky, but they held off all day.
Describe highlights from today’s science and sailing watches:
A contest was held between the Wind and Water watches for which watch could complete a data collection deployment faster. The Water watch won by a minute and a half.
Do you have any questions, concerns, or expectations for tomorrow?
We are looking forward to seeing how all of our data ties in as we wrap up in science tomorrow. Water watch hopes it does not rain for their last night on land.
