Dimmitt Middle School – Day 1

Trip Day: Day 1

Location: Puget Sound

Name(s): Dimmitt Middle School

School/Grade: 7th

It didn’t take long after the students got off the dock to begin learning their way around the charts of Puget Sound and set up a course for sailing and science deployments for the day.

The day started without much wind and by mid-day the captain put a call out the students for some windful thoughts to fill the sails.
They made they way up north before making the turn south towards Blake Island where they spent the night.

It was a good day on the water learning sailing and navigation skills, while the science teams collected data for investigating the question. The campfire made for a pleasant end to an exciting day.
