  • Join students from Pacific Northern Academy as they toast to teamwork and exploring the Salish Sea. This spring, students gained confidence while problem solving and learning new skills aboard Carlyn. #salishsea #sailing #teamwork #teambuilding #handsonlearning #maritimelearning #handsondeck
  • Let’s raise the sails! Throwback to this spring when Anacortes Middle School was aboard. Students worked together to raise the main sail. Teamwork and communication is a vital part of working on a boat. Through hands-on learning students made stronger connections with each other & the Salish Sea. #maritimelearning #settingsail #handsondeck #sailing #teamwork #salishsea
  • The Salish Sea holds many wonders. We use our senses to explore not only the waters of the Salish Sea, but also the shorelines where creatures are exposed at low tide. A highlight from last spring when a group of Girl Scouts joined us on Carlyn last spring. Hurray for tide pooling!

  • Let’s be thankful for the phytoplankton we find in our oceans. Phytoplankton provide some of the oxygen in the air we breath. Here is a highlight from the spring! Students gathering plankton samples to look closer at life in the Salish Sea. Thank you phytoplankton!!! #plankton #marinescience #handsonlearning #salishsea #studentscience #salishseaexpeditions
