A Salish experience is a springboard to the discovery of the elemental interconnections of life and developing the success skills of critical thinking, confidence and curiosity. Students discover connections between human action in the environment and scientific research results. They make connections between collaboration and success, and between what is learned in the classroom and what is learned in the real world. They connect with one another and with adult mentors in positive, lasting ways. And students discover their ability to be independent, learning both to work within a team and to take charge of their own learning.
