Partner Spotlight: NOAA and Taylor Shellfish
The intersection between marine resource management, thoughtful stewardship and informed policy-making is such a critical one for our region and for the future of the Salish Sea. Salish student scientists study the effects of human impacts on marine life, and learn about the resulting systemic changes to the marine ecosystem such as ocean acidification, which poses a significant threat to shellfish.
We’re proud to partner with NOAA and Taylor Shellfish, who are working to keep the complex marine ecosystem of the Salish Sea healthy and vital, and ensure that fisheries like shellfish farming can remain sustainable.
We invite you to watch this short video from NOAA about shellfish farming and aquaculture in the Pacific Northwest.
