Volunteer
Salish Sea Expeditions is always looking for excited volunteers!
Salish has been fortunate enough to have benefited from a wide range of volunteer expertise, from established professionals to high school students interested in pursuing a career in the marine science field. Without the help of these generous individuals, Salish would not be able to produce such an innovative educational opportunity. Please feel free to download our Volunteer Guide and return the Volunteer Information section to our volunteer coordinator so that we can match your interests with our needs.
Goody Gibbons, a Salish Office Assistant extraordinaire, and her service project for Odyssey Middle School.
The many volunteer opportunities that we have available include:
Office Assistant
Provide clerical support to our program by filing, database maintenance,
and other general office duties.
Public Outreach/Relations Assistant
Assist with community outreach by hosting an informational meeting in your
home (with our help of course!), or distributing posters and program
opportunity flyers.
Shipboard Assistant
Assist in line handling and docking on vessel transits, or provide vessel
maintenance.
Shore Support
Provide transportation for volunteers and staff to rendezvous locations with
the program vessels.
Yard Maintenance
Provide flower bed weeding and lawn mowing at Salish's office.
If you have a skill beyond the list above that you think might enhance Salish Sea Expeditions,
feel free to talk to the volunteer coordinator. We are very open to
suggestions and would love to hear your ideas.
